Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your most common questions about the Builder Program.

The Builder Program is the right place for anyone who is interested in learning how to build low-code business applications with tools like Quickbase. In addition to building apps, participants of the program can learn more about how to solve business problems and connect with like-minded problem solvers all over the world.

On the other hand, if you have a specific data or application need which must be addressed urgently you may benefit more from the Sales and Customer Success resources that are available to customers with our Premier, Platform, Enterprise, or Trial plans.

Your free Builder Program account is designed to provide you with a way to learn and practice your Quickbase app building skills. This means that in addition to accessing all our great learning and help resources, you can actually build and test the ideas that you have for apps of your very own. Whether you want to focus on data by creating tables, relationships, and reports, or you’d like to focus on processes with role-based dashboards and workflow, the only limit is your imagination.

The Builder Program is also a great place to study for your Quickbase certification, build apps for your personal use, get new ideas from other Builders, and hear about upcoming Quickbase Community events in your area.

The specific limitations of the account are:

  • Maximum of 3 Users
  • 1 MB of Data per App (~12,500 rows of data in a table with 10 fields)
  • Maximum of 1,000 API Calls per month
  • Apps cannot be transferred to a Builder Program account
  • Non-Production Use

We highly encourage you to test out ideas that you have to solve problems for your business while you learn, but you will need to transfer those apps to a Premier, Platform, or Enterprise account if you wish to leverage the app in a professional or commercial setting. You are also free to create apps for your own use as long as they are only intended for personal purposes.

We highly recommend that you take a moment to check out our resources page, which will be your hub to all the tools we provide to help you as you build. Our online help portal will give you access to tons of detailed information, and the Quickbase Community site is a great place to quickly get answers to your questions from other builders just like you. Quickbase University is also a great place to go when you need some ideas on how to start planning your next app, or study for your certification.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for within our resources, you can also get answers right from a Quickbase representative by submitting a support case to our world-class Care team.

With a platform like Quickbase, so much is possible that it can be difficult to know where to get started. If you already have an idea for a problem to solve, then we recommend using that as your starting point. Problems that you are familiar with often provide you with a clear vision for success that will help you to identify the specific skills that will be important to learn.

Whether you already have a specific use case in mind or not, we also recommend the Quickbase University courses in Orientation and App Planning. The University can provide you with best practices as well as instructions on building sample apps to help you learn. Some Builders even like to start by building themselves an app to track their ideas and learning progress!
