Quickbase Expands Executive Team with Addition of B2B Software Veteran Eric Olson as Chief Marketing Officer

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Apr. 9, 2019 Quickbase, the leading SaaS platform for building powerful, integrated, customized business applications, is expanding its executive team, announcing today that it has added Eric Olson as Chief Marketing Officer, a new role for the company.

The announcement comes as Vista Equity Partners formally takes on a majority stake of Quickbase. The company has set its sights on capturing the demand for DIY software solutions to business problems that overburdened IT teams can’t build and point solutions aren’t able to solve.

“We’re in the early days of a massive surge in market demand for low-code solutions. We’re grateful to have Eric’s leadership as we ramp up marketing to educate business and IT leaders on the value of Quickbase and the incredible things our network of builders are doing with the platform,” said Quickbase CEO Rick Willett. “I was impressed with Eric’s track record in building market-leading software brands, driving growth in fast-changing markets and building high-performing teams. He is adding a critical piece to our executive team as our growth accelerates.”

Olson was previously leading global marketing at Sovos as CMO, helping the enterprise software business establish itself as the global leader in the emerging cloud tax software market, including rapid growth and expansion across three continents. In all, he has more than 15 years of senior go-to-market leadership experience, including roles as CEO at Zerista and general manager at Active Network.

Quickbase, which has grown rapidly since its carve out from Intuit in 2016, is focused on enabling anyone to create business applications, improving productivity across a wide range of business functions from field services to human resources and reducing the burden on central IT.

“A marketer’s dream is to work on a business that can make a massive impact in the world. Not only is low-code software that kind of market opportunity, but Quickbase is in a great position to lead it and help so many businesses solve problems they can’t solve today,” said Eric Olson, Quickbase CMO. “I was immediately impressed with the company’s customer-obsessed culture, the commitment to simplicity and the courageous vision, and I’m honored to be part of the team.”

Olson will report to the CEO.
