Hackathon FAQ

The Hackathon is a contest where individuals or teams compete during a fixed time period to build the best solution that solves for a specific problem or use case.

The power and flexibility of Quick Base has helped many organizations get back to work quickly and safely during the pandemic. We want to inspire creative problem-solvers (that’s YOU!) to think big with our platform and tackle today’s biggest challenges.

Yes! Quick Base is committing $250,000 in prize money to the Hackathon. There will be significant cash prizes for the top solutions and more modest prizes for creativity and innovation. We know you are busy and want to incentivize perseverance!

This event is open to everyone except current Quick Base employees. More information on rules can be found here.

We expect most solutions will be submitted by teams of individuals working together. A well-balanced team could include one or two experienced developers, a process expert, a project manager, someone focused on usability and testing, etc. The Hackathon experience will facilitate team building and help you find others of different skill sets to form a well-rounded team. Mostly you need enthusiasm and interest!

Also, what a great reason to learn Quick Base! We offer a free builder account which includes access to our online Quick Base training and our Exchange with hundreds of example Quick Base applications. You can also join our online Quick Base Community and Slack channel to be directly connected with experts in our community.

Starting September 21st 2020, participants will have eight weeks until November 16th to build and submit their solutions.

No, this will be a virtual event. While we will miss seeing you in person, this format does allow much more time for ideation and creation. We are excited to see what you come up with!
