How to Win a Quick Base Customer Award

At EMPOWER 2016 in Nashville, Quick Base was proud to present customer awards to customers in five different categories — three organizational categories and two individual categories. With more than 100 nominations, even making the finals of these awards is a huge achievement.

I have the pleasure of running the Quick Base Customer Awards program, so I get a first-hand look at what makes some nominations more successful than others. I've also fielded many questions from customers who want to know how they can hear their names called at the 2017 Customer Awards presentation.

To help you get the recognition you deserve, here are 4 tips to give you the best chance at winning a Quick Base Customer Award:

1) Track your success

Quick Base customers often struggle to “put a number” on their success, and yet it's the single most important thing you can do to ensure you're getting the recognition you deserve.

Think about your most successful Quick Base apps. Chances are they're driving real value to your organization that is measurable — whether you realize it or not. For example, let's say you built an app to consolidate data from multiple project teams into one place. My guess is someone was already spending time doing that before Quick Base. If it took 10 hours per week before Quick Base and 0 hours after, that's about 500 hours per year in gained efficiency.

What metrics can you come up with to show your success?

2) Share your story, not your app

A great work of art is more than just the culmination of brush strokes on a canvas. To have real meaning, it needs to tell a story that impacts a viewer. Similarly, your QuickBase success is about more than building a really good app or two. To convince awards voters, you need to tell us the story of your success. A great submission will answer these questions:

  • What was the problem?
  • How did the solution solve the problem?
  • What was the result?

3) Be a Hero

Our customer awards are divided into two main categories — organizational and individual. For both, we're looking for people and organizations who do more than just succeed with Quick Base. We love customers who spread the love through meetups, app jams, connecting with others in forums and communities, volunteering for beta and early access programs, and other means. Our heroes will stop at nothing to help other Quick Base users!

4) Nominate yourself (or someone else)!

We recently launched nominations for Quick Base Customer Awards 2017! We'll narrow all nominations down to about 15 finalists, and announce the winners live on stage at EMPOWER 2017 in Boston, MA. We'll take nominations until March 17, 2017.
