Here at Quickbase, we are committed to enterprise-grade security and continuously promote it across all aspects of the Quickbase service. As part of that, we want to ensure that our users are accessing Quickbase in the most secure way.

What is Happening?

On March 31, 2018, Quickbase will be ending support for browsers Internet Explorer 9 and Internet Explorer 10.

Why?

Using a secure browser to access Quickbase applications is an important factor in delivering a secure experience with our platform. Microsoft has ended support for Internet Explorer 9 and 10, so these browser versions do not have the latest security updates. Over time, they pose increasing security risks to their users and organizations. We believe it is in the best interest of our customers to adopt secure browsers to access Quickbase.

What Does this Mean for Me?

You will still be able to access Quickbase with Internet Explorer 9 and 10. However, the latest technologies we leverage in building new Quickbase features will not be supported by these browser versions. Further, when we develop new Quickbase functionality, it will no longer be tested on Internet Explorer 9 and 10. While new features might still work with the older browser versions, there are no guarantees. It is very likely that your experience will be unpredictable and inconsistent. Further, our customer support group won’t be able to troubleshoot issues related to using Quickbase with unsupported browsers.

What is the Benefit from Switching Away from Internet Explorer 9 and 10?

Accessing Quickbase with supported browsers means improved security, since these browsers are up-to-date and protected from the latest security threats. Further, you will be able to take full advantage of the latest and greatest Quickbase features and enhancements, fully tested and supported on these browsers. Updating your browser also improves its speed and your overall browsing experience.

What Do I Need to Do?

Use supported browsers to access Quickbase. They include:

Some organizations have formal processes for updating browsers. If this is the case at your company, then your Quickbase administrator needs to reach out to their manager and/or IT department before updating.

Download the latest version of your chosen browser and you’re ready to go!
