We are excited to be including a full day of Pre-conference activities at EMPOWER 2016, offering Fundamentals Training for those who are new to Quickbase, and our first ever App-a-thon for power users who are ready to push their app development skills to the limit!

Quickbase Fundamentals Training

Our full-day pre-conference Fundamentals Training will inspire and empower app builders and app builders-to-be while they get up to speed on Quickbase. In conjunction with Quickbase product experts, sales engineers and support reps, our Learning & Development team has assembled highly interactive and engaging segments of training via lecture and instruction. These will be augmented by hands on learning that will:

  • Accelerate the learning process
  • Increase retention of concepts and functionality
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of each topic before moving on
  • Provide ideas and use cases for real world application

EMPOWER 2016 Fundamentals Training is sold out, but you can learn more about future training opportunities by visiting the Training Kiosk in Exhibit Hall.

Quickbase App-a-Thon

Over 60 Quickbase power users are coming together to test their skills, harness their creativity, compete under pressure, and vie for glory (and a bit of cash) in our first ever Quickbase App-a-thon.

While we won’t be revealing the use cases or app specifications until the competition kicks off, we would like to introduce the two customers who we know will walk away with an awesome new app.

Track One: Teams will be competing to solve for the Customer Use Case submitted by Paradise Energy Solutions), a trusted provider of sustainable solutions in the renewable technologies sector that designs and installs solar energy systems for the agricultural, commercial and residential space.

Track Two: Teams will develop a tool for our Nonprofit Use Case, submitted by the Devereux Center for Resilient Children (DCRC). Devereux is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit providers of behavioral healthcare in the country, with the mission to promote social and emotional development, foster resilience, and build skills for school and life success in children from birth through school-age, as well as to promote the resilience of the adults who care for them.

Track Three: Teams are comprised of our sponsoring partners & Quickbase Developers, who will solve for a Quickbase designed use case.

App building will be begin Tuesday at 9:30 am and conclude promptly at 2:45 pm. Our teams will then provide five minute demos to the judging panels, which include Quickbase CEO Allison Mnookin and VP of Product Management Jeff Prus.

All apps submitted during the competition will be made available on the Quickbase App Exchange, and we can’t wait to see what the teams come up with!

The winners will be announced at Thursday night’s EMPOWER 2016 Networking Party at the Wildhorse Saloon. The winning teams will walk away with $3000, but MOST importantly…the right to call themselves Quickbase Rapid Application Development superstars!
