Dispatch Faster with a Live View of Your Team and Assets

When a job comes in, dispatch has one question to answer: who should take this?

In most operations, that answer isn't sitting in one place. You call someone to see where they are. You text someone else to check if they're done. You glance at a spreadsheet to see what was planned earlier in the day. By the time you've pulled that together, you're already working with outdated information.

We built Asset and Team Tracker to show where your technicians are, what they're working on, and what condition your equipment is in — all pulled from the data you already have in FastField. And when a job comes in, you can assign it to a technician right from the map.

Dispatch Decisions Get Made with Incomplete Information

A dispatcher's biggest challenge is having a current view of where their team is and what they're working on. The details they need live in different places: asset records sit in one system, technician status comes in through calls or messages, job updates get tracked somewhere else entirely.

None of it stays in sync on its own, so every decision starts with a quick round of checking and confirming. That works when things are slow. It breaks down when the day picks up.

The cost shows in slower response times, technicians driving farther than they need to, and dispatchers spending more time coordinating than deciding. None of it is dramatic on its own, but the costs add up across a day.

One Live Map of Your Team and Assets

Asset and Team Tracker is a real-time, map-based view of your field team and your company's assets. From one interactive interface, you can monitor equipment locations, track technician activity, and dispatch work directly from the map.

When you open the map, you'll see where your technicians are, what they're working on, where your equipment is, and what condition it's in. Asset data comes from your existing Data Tables, so each piece of equipment shows up as a clickable pin with the details you already track.

Team location data comes from the FastField Mobile App. When someone checks in, their location is captured, and if Location Breadcrumbs are enabled by an admin, updates continue every five minutes throughout the shift.

That gives dispatchers more than a point-in-time view. They can see where a technician has been throughout the day, not just where they are right now, which makes it easier to make decisions in the moment instead of piecing things together afterward.

Three Problems Asset and Team Tracker Solves on the Map

Here are three ways real-time visibility changes how the work gets done:

1. Faster Dispatch from the Map

Asset and Team Tracker gives you the context to see who's nearby, who's in the middle of a job, and who's likely available. From there, you assign the work directly from the map.

Dispatches can also be tagged to specific Data Table records, so the assignment is linked to the asset itself rather than tracked as free-text. This is especially helpful when unplanned work comes up.

2. A Complete Picture of Every Shift

Open a technician's profile, and you see a live timeline of their day: check-ins, check-outs, breaks, form submissions, and location breadcrumbs across the full shift. Time on site is captured with timestamps and reverse-geolocated addresses — no manual entry.

That information can also be used for payroll, billing, and productivity tracking. Dispatch stays informed without interrupting anyone, and the audit trail is there if you need to reconstruct what happened later.

3. Asset Status, Visible at a Glance

Each asset shows up on the map with its location and key details. You can apply rules-based pin styling to reflect status visually. For example, you can have a pin turn red when an asset needs maintenance. Admins set the conditions; the map updates as records change.

Built on the Data You Already Have in FastField

Most teams already have the data — it's in their Data Tables, mobile check-ins, and their day-to-day workflows. Asset and Team Tracker connects those pieces so they reflect what's happening in real time.

Asset and Team Tracker is available on the FastField Pro Plan. To get started, an admin needs to enable the Asset Tracking beta toggle in Company Settings.

Teams also need Data Tables with latitude and longitude fields, the FastField Mobile App installed on iOS or Android, and user groups configured for team layers. Trial users get access during the trial period.
