Stephen Deese, Customer Success Engineer and QuickBase legend, will be presenting a two-part session on APIs at EMPOWER2017.
API Basics with Code Pages: Part 1 will introduce attendees to the QuickBase API and is geared towards those who have some basic understanding of programming or aspire to write code.
API Basics with Code Pages: Part 2 will include hands-on application of the lessons from Part 1, and will also appeal to attendees familiar with the QuickBase API.
Stephen sat down with the EMPOWER team to share some thoughts on his session.
It’s just something that opens QuickBase up to more complex use cases.
It’s important for anybody that needs to do things that they just can’t accomplish natively. It’s good for automating complex actions. It is geared towards those that have some programming chops, that want that functionality but don’t want to use a 3rd party integrator.
Not to do certain things because you can’t. This opens some of those possibilities.
It brings the joy of development to people who typically wouldn’t have it. It’s cool to make a good piece of software that does exactly what you want it to do and other people value it. That’s usually the exclusive domain of developers. QuickBase brings that into the hands of people who wouldn’t normally experience that.
They are rebels. They are like “we aren’t gonna wait on IT, we are just gonna go build something.” It’s like innovation for rebels.
Come a day or two early and go to Stephanie’s on Newbury for brunch. Then Lucy’s Ethiopian Café is a great place for lunch. And of course, if you want to be hip at night and hang out with the cool kids, grab drinks at Sonsie.
It’s a lot of training for the money.
