Step 1: Enable AI Label Scanner (Admin Only)

AI Label Scanner is a Pro feature, so an administrator must enable it before the team can use it in the field. Here is how:

  • Log in to the FastField portal and navigate to Account > Company Settings
  • Open the Mobile Apps tab
  • Enable Mobile users to scan with OCR and AI-powered OCR scanning
  • Click Save. Your whole team now has access.

Step 2: Point and Snap a Photo

Open the FastField mobile app and select your form. Tap the Label Scanner icon in the lower-left corner of the form, then choose the Camera option.

Hold your device in front of the equipment label, asset tag, or nameplate. The camera autofocuses and captures the image.

Step 3: Review and Apply

On the Field Mappings screen, technicians can:

  • Review the extracted values and suggested field matches
  • Check confidence scores to quickly identify any fields that may need additional review
  • Make edits or adjustments before any data is added to the form

When satisfied with the results, tap Apply.

Fields such as equipment name, equipment ID, serial number, model number, and equipment type are automatically populated, allowing technicians to move quickly to the next task.
