QuickBase Forum
Big News Indeed! jQuery Support in community.intuit.com
This is going to be fun; the new QuickBase forum @ community.intuit.com has jQuery built in and exposed through the variable jQuery (not $). To see for yourself, visit community.intuit.com and paste the following "bookmarklet" (javascript protocol URL) into the address bar and make all the <div>s on the page have a red background color:

javascript:void(jQuery("div").css("background-color","red"))

Thanks for posting a message to our Community Forum! It's users like you helping other users find solutions that make this community special. It's a big deal and we want you to know we appreciate it.

We also want to share some big news. The QuickBase Community Forum will be moving this weekend. We're very excited to be moving to the community.intuit.com forum site. The move will bring a new level of functionality to the community that we think you'll appreciate.

The Intuit Communities offer a rating system, user comments, and a points system to track and identify prolific and helpful community members. They're called All-Stars, and they even have a private forum to meet and interact with other Intuit Community All-Stars!

Starting Thursday September 10 our forum will be in READ-ONLY mode while we migrate existing messages to the new forum. The work will take a couple of days, but we'll be back in business on Tuesday September 15th, and you'll be able to find us at our new location

Here's some important information about registration:

    * At the new site, go to the registration page for the Intuit communities.
    * You will be asked to either create a new Intuit User ID or log in with your existing Intuit User ID. If you do not already have an Intuit ID, it's easy to register and create one. The Intuit User ID is used by several Intuit websites and products (we are working having one Intuit User ID for all our products and services-making it easier for you to log on to most of the Intuit sites.)
    * If you are not sure whether you have an Intuit Account/Intuit User ID, click on the Forget User ID link. If you cannot remember your password, click the Password link and you will be guided through a retrieval process.
    * Once you have logged in to the new site, you will be asked to select a new screen name. This screen name is not connected to your QuickBase screen name, and it is not used for log-in purposes. It's strictly to identify you in the Intuit forums.

Note: Screen names are on a first come, first serve basis. Please have an alternate in mind, in case your first choice is already taken. Also for security purposes, we don’t recommend using your first and last name as your screen name.

If you have any difficulty registering a new Intuit ID or accessing the new forums, please contact QuickBase support at: http://support.quickbase.com

Thank you! We look forward to seeing you in the forums!

Sincerely, the QuickBase Customer Success Team

When you bring additional fields into a conversion, Quickbase often finds inconsistencies. For example, say you're converting your Companies column into its own table. One company, Acme Corporation, has offices in New York, Dallas and Portland. So, when you add the City column to the conversion, Quickbase finds three different locations for Acme. A single value in the column you're converting can only match one value in any additional field. Quickbase needs you to clean up the extra cities before it can create your new table. To do so, you have one of two choices:

  • If you want to create three separate Acme records (Acme-New York, Acme-Dallas and Acme-Portland) click the Conform link at the top of the column.
  • If the dissimilar entries are mistakes (say Acme only has one office in New York and the other locations are data-entry errors) go back into your table and correct the inconsistencies—in this case, changing all locations to New York. Then try the conversion again.

Read more about converting a column into a table.
