QuickBase Traffic Data Visualization

It takes a good deal of time and effort to describe complex concepts in simple terms. Mark Twain succinctly captured the issue with brevity: I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” I find this especially true of raw data. Until visualized in a graph, chart or map, its value can remain unrealized.

So I’m delighted when I find tools that, like information management in QuickBase, are good at visualizing large amounts of data  in new, interesting ways that make it easy to quickly gain insights. I recently discovered the Google Chrome Experiment WebGL Globe project and used it to visualize the QuickBase user traffic over 24 hour periods. The lines rising out of the globe show QuickBase traffic volume from various geo locations at a specific point in time. The fully animated version of the graphic – which you can view here or by clicking on the image below – autospins and updates the clock as it rotates so you can get a 360 degree view.

Did you know you can add videos and graphics to your QuickBase dashboard to keep your users more engaged? Check out this article on how to embed videos in your dashboard.
