In the past few years we have seen unprecedented growth in mobile devices all over the world. According to Forrester research, 257 million smartphones, and 126 million tablets will be in use with US customers by 2016. For professionals, the convenience of mobile devices offers us quick on-the-go access to business information while on the road, at a client site, or at the beach.
The challenge is that most business software has been designed for use on the traditional desktop, making it awkward and sometimes very difficult to use on a mobile phone. However, the mobile form factor combined with the latest advances in technology such as HTML5 presents us with tremendous opportunity to design products that provide a superior user experience in addition to the convenience of mobile platforms.
Our product development team at QuickBase worked hard to take advantage of the best available technology to design the mobile version of QuickBase. Its fast, elegant, easy to use, and best of all, available readily on any mobile browser without having to download and maintain additional software.
We first released QuickBase mobile in January 2012, and have been continuously improving the offering since the initial release. In April 2012 we added the Add & Edit features to QuickBase mobile, you can read about the April release in the blog post.

Now, with our June 10th release we’ve improved the QuickBase mobile offering even further. Here are the enhancements:
Does your app have long lists? Now you can easily navigate long lists in QuickBase mobile with continuous scrolling, which automatically retrieves new data as you scroll to the bottom of each page.
Improved Record Picker & User Picker
We are always listening to our customers, and based on your feedback we have improved the user and record pickers for consistency and usability. These enhancements designed to save you time include:
- Autofiltering dynamically displays matching items typed into the search field.
- Extended display lets you quickly identify the appropriate item in the record pickers for reference and predecessor fields.
- Enhanced display of predecessor fields, displays the related records on forms using the first record picker field value in individual tokens.
E-mail Records & Reports
This is personally my favorite new feature, designed to make you more productive, you can e-mail a link to a report or record directly from your mobile phone!
