Manage Multiple User Accounts

If you want, you can create several user profiles connected with a single user account (using only one email address). A user profile is a separate user name. It's like having an alter ego in QuickBase. You can log into QuickBase under the profile's user name instead of your email address. This feature is especially handy if you're setting up roles. Just create additional profiles and assign your roles to each one in order to see how your role restrictions will affect different users.

If you do set up multiple user profiles, then you need to specify which user name is the main profile that QuickBase should associate with your email address. The user name you specify becomes your default account. Whenever you or another QuickBase user enters your email address (for example, when you sign in or when someone shares an application with you), this is the profile that QuickBase will use.

Note: Create additional user names with care. If you do create an alternate profile for testing purposes, give it a user name like "JohnTest" that clearly identifies that profile as your test account. This helps other users avoid confusing the two accounts. Also, an alternate profile is a commitment: You cannot delete a user profile.

To create an additional user profile:

  1. On the upper right of any application page, click your name. Within the menu that displays, select Edit User Profile.

  2. On the left side of the User Profile page, click Manage User Accounts.

  3. Within the paragraphs that explain user accounts in the center of the screen, click the register with a new user name hyperlink.

The Create an Additional User Account page displays.

  4. Fill out all the fields and click Next.

  5. Unless you're creating a 30-day trial account, click the I would like to create a user login so I can access an existing QuickBase account radio button.

  6. Click Continue.

QuickBase informs you that you will receive an email to you so you can complete registration of your new account.

  7. Open the email and click the link to complete registration.

Note: In the future, when you want to refer to one of your additional accounts, you must use its user name.

To specify which account is your default, follow the following steps.

  1. On the upper right of any application page, click your name. Within the menu that displays, select Edit User Profile.

  2. On the left side of the User Profile page, click Manage User Accounts.

  3. Select the account that you want your email address to be associated with, and then click OK.
