Oldcastle Materials’ Forrest Parker to Speak at Quickbase EMPOWER 2016

Forrest Parker, Business Systems Analyst at Oldcastle Materials, started using Quickbase in 2008 when he was asked to develop a few reports in an existing application. He is now developing Quickbase applications for the company, the leading vertically integrated supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete, and construction and paving services in the United States.

“Oldcastle Materials is a large company. Quickbase provides an easy way to gather and consolidate data from users spread out across the country.” he says.

In discussing his favorite features of Quickbase, Forrest champions the ability to build powerful no code applications that work on a desktop computer and mobile devices.

“Quickbase provides an easy way for us to capture information from our employees in the field who are no longer issued laptop computers,” he says. “Information that was previously recorded in a spreadsheet and then emailed to the office is now captured with a cell phone or tablet. The foremen entering the information find the process easier and the office staff love having all the information they need at their fingertips.”

In Forrest’s session at EMPOWER 2016, “Streamlining Quickbase Security: From 30 Roles to 3,” he will discuss how the flexibility to design roles and permissions can become complicated and produce confusion as organizations add new employees, roles, or departments. He will share the challenges he’s overcome, mistakes and all, plus real-world best practices for designing scalable applications with user security in mind.

This is an opportunity that you don’t want to miss!
