Top 10 Things to do Around EMPOWER2017

EMPOWER2017 is getting closer and closer so you might want to start thinking about some unique things to do around our venue — The Copley Marriott Hotel. Whether you are a Boston local or traveling from across the country, planning cool activities can go a long way! With that in mind, we have come up with ten fun Boston activities you will find within walking distance to the hotel.

For the Shop-a-holic

  1. The Copley Mall: Just two staircases away from the Marriott Copley Hotel lobby, the Copley Mall is considered one of Boston’s most distinctive shopping destinations. The mall features stores like Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Tiffany & Co., Jimmy Choo, and a Legal Sea Foods (in case you start craving a lobster roll).
  2. The Prudential Center: Between us, the Prudential Center’s Starbucks is way less crowded than the one at Copley Place. But aside from that, the center offers stores like Vineyard Vines, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue and Sephora. There is also a new and delicious dining destination you do not want to miss: Eataly, a Mario Batali concept store with retail, grab-and-go, casual and full-service dining, cooking classes, and more. You can even shop and sip wine at the same time!
  3. Newbury Street: Enjoy stores like Arcteryx, Chanel, Patagonia, Timberland, Kate Spade, Polo Ralph Lauren and Burberry among many others. Side note: Newbury Street has the some of the slowest walkers in all of Boston.

For the Fabulous Foodie

  1. Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse: Admittedly this is not a Boston-only location, but it’s perfect for group dining and offers a diverse selection of fire roasted traditional Brazilian meats, chicken and seafood. Fogo also offers vegetarian and gluten free options. It’s delicious!
  2. Top of the Hub: Across the bridge at the Prudential Center this sky-high restaurant soars 52 floors above the Back Bay. Top of the Hub’s award winning cuisine, service and ambiance of comfortable sophistication blend with the serenity of Boston’s best skyline views to deliver a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience. Tip: To sit by the windows you must order food, but you can still catch a glance (although a slightly obstructed one), from the bar.
  3. The Back Bay Social Club on Boylston Street: A stylishly old-fashioned bistro for New American eats & intricate cocktails.
  4. Atlantic Fish Co on Boylston Street: An institutional landmark for some of Boston’s best seafood, Atlantic Fish Company has been serving the freshest catch since 1978. Menus are printed daily to reflect the quality of their offerings, sourced straight from the harbor every morning.

For the Explorer

  1. Freedom Trail: A 2.5-mile, red-lined route that leads you to 16 historically significant sites — Explore museums and meetinghouses, churches, and burying grounds. Discover the rich history of the American Revolution where every step tells a story.
  2. Duck Tours: You’ve never toured Boston in anything quite like the world-famous Boston Duck, an authentic World War II amphibious landing vehicle that has been renovated for sightseeing on land and water.
  3. Boston Common and Boston Public Garden: See breathtaking and relaxing landscapes including the Frog Pond, Swan Boats and amazing trees and flowers. There’s also several historical statues like the famous “Make Way for Ducklings” display. The Boston Common and Public Garden were respectively the first public park and the first public botanical garden in America.

We hope this gives you a few ideas to make your stay in our hometown even more enjoyable. Can’t wait to see you all at EMPOWER2017!
