EMPOWER 2016 – Getting Data from Paper Forms into QuickBase

EMPOWER 2016 – Getting Data from Paper Forms into QuickBaseIan Greig, Group Technical & IT Manager at Run Energy, has been working with QuickBase for over two years, and has built over forty apps to help manage Run Energy’s business processes. Run Energy provides operations, maintenance, installation, software and technical services to the energy and environmental industries worldwide.

Ian’s session at EMPOWER 2016, “Getting Data from Paper Forms into QuickBase,” will touch on how analog data collection, rather than being obsolete, can be a viable and easily integrated part of digital systems. He will discuss how field personnel at Run Energy collect information via digested paper forms and use an automated uploading process to feed the data into digital systems, making sure no data gets left behind.

“QuickBase can collect and manage data from almost any other system, even paper forms” Greig says. “We essentially use it as an enterprise system for Run Energy, covering all our business processes apart from accounting.”

QuickBase has helped Run Energy to reduce timesheet processing time by 25%; reduce late timesheets by 30%; eliminate paper and faxes; and significantly improve customer delivery of service reports.

“QuickBase is easy to use with a powerful capability to build apps to suit almost any business process that you can think of. You just need internet access and a computer. Importantly there is no programming required, its DIY of app building!” he says.

Recently on a month-long working holiday with his family in Bali, Ian, a native Australian, built and implemented a new Health Safety Environment form process while seated at a café.

We are excited for Ian’s session at EMPOWER 2016, and it is sure to draw a crowd.

As for Ian, he is looking forward to seeing what new QuickBase features are available, and the chance to see how others are using QuickBase.

For EMPOWER 2016, Ian recommends to those attending “go to any Kirk Trachy session, as he has great tips on using QuickBase, and really enjoys using QuickBase, which can be infectious.”
