Note: This topic is for Realm administrators only. QuickBase realms can be set up only on accounts that have purchased a QuickBase Enterprise plan. If you have a QuickBase Team account, or if you do not have a realm, you don't have access to the feature discussed here.
These days, staff members often work from home or from the corner coffee shop. QuickBase is great for this kind of remote access, but if you have an application that contains highly sensitive information, you probably want to limit where and how staff members access that data. IP filtering controls let you do just that. Grant access only to a select few computers that are in your company's IP address range. Turn on this option for an application, and only computers in your internal network have access.
Implement IP filtering in two steps: First the Realm Administrator turns on IP filtering for the realm and sets the range of IP addresses. Then managers of individual applications can turn it on to limit application access to computers on the internal network. Read on to learn how to do both.
Note: Realm administrators can always sign in to applications in the realm regardless of IP filtering settings. That is, a realm administrator can sign in to any application within his or her realm from any computer, even one that is blocked by IP filtering.
To turn on IP filtering for your realm:
On your My QuickBase page, click Manage
the realm, and then click the Policies tab.
Note: Realm
Policies (set using the Policies tab) are not applicable when an external
authentication system has been implemented via LDAP or SAML.
Within the Sign-in Policies section of the page, enter a range of IP addresses in the Allowed IP addresses box.
