Imagine that you've created an application and you've included a special table to track your own application management tasks. No other staff members need to see data in this table. However, when your colleagues use the Quick Find feature to search for application information, records from your private administration table appear, confusing everyone.
There's an easy solution. As an application manager, you can prevent QuickBase from searching specific tables in a multi-table application when using Quick Find. (This feature doesn't work on a single table application.)
Note: This feature prevents a Quick Find operation from searching a table, but if a user conducts an Advanced Find or creates a report, QuickBase lets the user select and search the table.
To prevent QuickBase from searching a specific table:
In the table bar on any application page, click the table you want to hide from QuickFind. Within the menu that appears, select Customize --tablename-- table > Properties.
On the left side of the Properties tab, click Advanced Properties.
Turn on the Prevent the "Find" box from searching this table checkbox, and then click Save & Done.
Tip: If you really want to hide your table, you can also remove the table name from the QuickBase Menu Bar.
