When a relationship isn't working out, it's easy to call it off (in QuickBase, anyway). Before you delete a relationship, understand that you'll lose any data you've entered in fields belonging to that relationship. (Don't know what these fields are? See about relationships.)
To delete a Relationship:
Open the application that contains the relationship.
Note: If your relationship is between separate applications, open the application containing the Details table. You can only edit a cross-application relationship from within the Details table, not the Master.
Access the relationship.
In the table bar on any application page, click one table in the relationship. Within the menu that appears, select Customize --tablename-- table > Relationships. Locate the relationship you want to change and click its Edit link. The Relationship Properties page opens.
On the bottom left of the page, click Delete This Relationship.
Review the confirmation page that QuickBase displays, click Delete This Relationship again, and then click OK to confirm the action.
QuickBase displays a message letting you know how many fields it deleted. When you delete a Relationship, QuickBase deletes all the fields that comprise the relationship except the reference field itself, which is not deleted. This field reverts to a regular field again. To avoid confusion you should delete this field too.
Delete the reference field.
On the upper right of the Usage tab that
appears after you delete the relationship, click the Delete
this field button. If you miss this opportunity for some
reason, rest assured that you can delete the reference field at
any time within the detail table's Fields screen. Customize --tablename-- table > Fields.
Locate the old reference field and click its Delete
button.
