To take advantage of the newest QuickBase features, you'll need to use one of the following fully supported browsers:
Mozilla Firefox 3.0+ (download latest version)
Internet Explorer 7.0+ (download latest version). Note that if you are using Internet Explorer 8.0+, there is no need to turn on Compatibility View, since QuickBase will automatically handle compatibility issues. Support for Internet Explorer 6.0 is no longer provided as of September 30, 2011.
Safari 3.0+ (download latest version)
Google Chrome 4.0+ (download latest version)
While we don't test QuickBase on all browsers, we do expect that it will work fine with other modern browsers that are not on our list.
As a general rule, the more recent versions of browsers have better support for the technologies used in today's web applications. Therefore, you'll experience better performance with QuickBase (and with other web applications) if you use the most recent version of your browser.
No matter what browser you're using, you need to:
Have JavaScript enabled.
Have cookies enabled. Refer to your browser's help for information on enabling cookies (many modern browsers enable them by default). What is a cookie?
Be an SSL-compliant browser. The SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
protocol lets you pass sensitive information in encrypted format,
to keep it away from prying eyes. Whenever you see a closed padlock
(
or
) in the
lower right corner of the window, your information is protected by
SSL.
If you find that you can't access pages on the QuickBase site that
use this protocol (that is any pages whose URL or Web address begins
with https:// instead
of http://) then a firewall
may be blocking your access to these pages. If that's the case, speak
with your IT Manager about the problem.
