What are the parts of a QuickBase URL?

QuickBase includes a lot of detail in its URLs, which you can take advantage of when building formulas or external API functionality. For example, let’s consider a URL a user might see when viewing a report:

The account URL and DBIDs can be found through normal browsing of your applications, however the actions and parameters are a bit more subtle.

Name: Query

Description: Query a table using a shared, personal, or temporary report

Parameters:

  • qid (required):Speficies which report to display. It can be found at the end of the URL when viewing a report.

Example: https://mycompany.quickbase.com/db/bicvd9z25?a=q&qid=4

Name: Edit a Record

Description: Edit a record using QB form

Parameters:

  • rid (required): Speficies which record to open for editing. This is the record ID#.

  • dfid (optional): Specifies which form to use. If omitted, the default form for the user's role is used.

Example: https://mycompany.quickbase.com/db/bicvd9z25?a=er&rid=100&dfid=12

Name: Display Custom Page

Description: Display a custom rich text or code page

Parameters: 

  • pageID (required): Specifies which rich text or code page to display. This can be found in the Page Id column when viewing the list of Pages.

Example: https://mycompany.quickbase.com/db/bicvd9z25?a=dbpage&pageID=7

showpage

Name: Display App Home Page

Description: Display an app home page

Parameters: 

  • pageID (required): Specifies which qpp home page to display. This can be found in the Page Id column when viewing the list of Pages.

Example: https://mycompany.quickbase.com/db/bicvd9z25?a=showpage&pageID=2
